Epidemic of fly-tipping
Illegally dumped waste is unsightly and hazardous

Milton Keynes is one of the worst areas in our region for fly-tipping. Waste dumped in public spaces such as parks and play areas attracts rats and is dangerous for children and pets. Some fly-tipped waste includes poisonous chemicals and sharp metals. We took this photo in Eaglestone, near the hospital. It shows dumped household waste. This makes up the bulk of fly-tipping in our city. Waste like this is ugly and costly to remove. Leigh-Anne Perryman, Jane Whild and Tony Coughlan report many cases of fly-tipping. Should the Council be doing more to stop it?
